Delighting in God is so straight-forward, so very simple, and yet so neglected in the church world today. Why is it that so many simply don’t worship God throughout the week? Why do so many “worship” Him on Sunday morning, and then wait a whole week for the next Sunday to roll around? It is crazy to think that we claim to be Christians, bought and redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ, but we don’t worship Jesus or treasure Him or delight in Him every single day.
I wonder, then, if it would help to understand that Jesus delights in you? In fact, not only does Jesus delight in you, but God the Father delights in you too. Even more mind-boggling is the fact that the Bible tells us that God is going to rejoice in us and delight over us with singing!
This time we will be looking at Zephaniah 2:8-17 to try and understand how important it is that we start delighting in the God who delights in us.
