The Sound of Truth

Aug 19, 2017

You are a leader, whether or not you realize it. There is at least one person who is watching you closely who is going to mimic what you do. It may be a child, a spouse, a co-worker, a friend, or anyone. But there is at least one person, if not many more, who looks up to you and will follow you and do whatever you do.

That sort of influence can be a dangerous thing. Especially once you realize that you yourself are either on a path of sin that will lead to destruction or a path of righteousness that will lead to life eternal. That’s not to say you can earn eternal life. What that means is that if you are on the path of righteousness you are following Jesus, which in turn means you will lead others to Jesus. But, if you are on the path of sin, you are following the devil and his demons and they will lead you to destruction.

That makes it pretty clear then, doesn’t it? Where ever you are being led, you are leading others with you, even if you don’t know it. So it becomes important to make sure you know what path you’re on, who it is that is leading you, and where you are going.

We will be looking at 2 Chronicles 28 to view the life of King Ahaz of Judah – a sinful king who led the people to ruin. His life is a warning to avoid sinful paths and an encouragement to seek Christ first.
