The Sound of Truth

Jul 21, 2018

Everyone loves a good story, and the Bible is full of really good stories. In fact, one of the methods Jesus most commonly used to teach was to speak parables unto the people. A parable is really just a story with some very important lessons. Since the beginning of time, we've used stories to teach. Even today, we often use fairy tales to teach different lessons. But, the parables Jesus taught are, perhaps, the most important stories ever used to teach deep, spiritual lessons.

One of the most famous of these parables is the Parable of the Good Samaritan. It also may be one of the most misunderstood. It is a powerful story of a dying man who is helped by the least suspected source. Likewise, we as totally sinful people are rescued and saved by the most unsuspected source - a holy God. Not only are we saved, however; we are also transformed into His very likeness and commanded to live like Him.

As we look into this parable, we look to find out how salvation and justification work through Christ, and we aim to see what sort of transformation God wants to take place.
