The Sound of Truth

Apr 21, 2018

As He was dying upon the cross for the sins of the world, Jesus prayed something incredible. "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do." He prayed this while in terrible agony. Not only was He physically suffering, but spiritually as well. He was in the process of bearing our sins upon Himself. He was in the middle of taking the wrath of God upon Himself so that if we would believe in Him, we wouldn't have to. God, who hates sin, was suddenly taking the weight of our sin upon Himself. And, rather than praying for a lessening of pain, He prays that we might find forgiveness.

How awesome Jesus is! But, there are some very important reasons why Jesus prayed this upon the Cross and there is an extremely important take-away for us today.

Just remember: Christ's offer (of forgiveness) still stands.
