The Sound of Truth

Feb 17, 2018

It may sound like a silly question: Are you a fan or a follower of Jesus? You may even be tempted to say those are the same things. But, in reality, there is a huge difference between what a fan is and what a follower is.

Fans are, by their very nature, fickle. They waiver in their allegiance from one moment to the next. If you're a fan of a particular sports team, your allegiance may shift as soon as they start to do badly. If your a fan of a certain music group or band you may stop being a fan if they put out a bad record.

A follower, on the other hand, is devoted. A follower says, "Wherever you lead, I'll follow!" They have determined in their heart that they will go wherever they are led and they will not waiver in their allegiance or dedication.

So, being a follower of Jesus is vitally important, rather than just being a fan. In this message, we will attempt to determine what those differences are and what we can do to be a follower of Jesus.
