The Sound of Truth

Jan 21, 2018

Sometimes we repeat certain commandments from Scripture without really understanding what they mean. “Jesus commands us to be the salt of the earth! Jesus commands us to be the light of the world!” We’ve all heard people say this before. Many of us have likely even said it ourselves. But, I wonder, how many of us can actually say what in the world we’re talking about?

What exactly did Jesus mean when He said to be the salt of the earth and light of the world? What is the connection between the two? These two commandments are some of the most famous, some of the most important, and also some of the most misunderstood. We can’t continue in ignorance any longer. We must come to an understanding of what it means to be salt and light.

We are looking at Matthew 5:13-16 and studying what Jesus meant by this strange, but ever so important, commandment.
