The Sound of Truth

Oct 21, 2017

Every single day, we pass by people who are struggling, who are in need, who are totally lost. And every single day, we just pass them right on by. We turn a blind eye. We ignore their plight. We think to ourselves that our needs are more important than their needs. We think that we simply don’t have the time available to help them out.

Like the story of the Good Samaritan, so often we find ourselves ignoring the dying man on the side of the road. But, Jesus taught us not to ignore them, but to instead go forward, and meet their needs. He has taught us to care for others.

Sometimes it is disappointing when we’re that dying man on the side of the road and no one comes to our rescue. Thankfully, Jesus is that Good Samaritan. Not only does He continually rescue us, but He challenges us to do the same for others.

In today’s episode, we will be reading Matthew 9:18-26, 35-38 where there is both encouragement and a challenge: Encouragement that Jesus is always available to whosoever will call upon Him; a challenge to make ourselves available to help and serve others.
