The Sound of Truth

Sep 16, 2017

It has been said that the best offense is a good defense. In order to defend ourselves well though, we need to know our enemy. We need to know what they want. We need to know their tactics and their strategy in battle. When it comes to sports, football players will watch the tapes of the teams they are going to play against to learn about them. Boxers will do the same. In actual warfare, intel will be gathered on the enemy.

As Christians, we of course know our enemy: the devil and his demons. However, all too often, Christians are totally unaware of his tactics or what he is trying to do when he does attack. That means that many Christians are constantly losing battles against him.

In this message, we will be looking at the tactics the enemy uses against us by looking at 2 Chronicles 32. Specifically, we will be looking at King Sennacherib of Assyria attempting to lay siege to King Hezekiah in Judah. Through this encounter, we will learn not only the tactics of the enemy, but also the promises of God that will always bring us the victory.
